The NY Knicks were fined $25,000 for tampering because of team President Phil Jackson's comments about Oklahoma City Thunder guard and potential coach Derek Fisher. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reportedly indicated that the press corp gave Jackson the opportunity for an 'out.' i.e, they, the NY press, would say reports of Fisher in 'talks' with the Knicks came from unnamed sources.
Phil apparently said no. I know the tampering rules and I'll pay any fine.
Boomer & Carton aren't so sure, intimating that Jackson is in over his head here.
