16-yr-old Katie Ledecky just broke the 1500m record by 6 seconds

16-year-old Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky just broke the 1500 m world record, by 6 seconds, at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona Spain. KL finished the 30 laps in 15:36.53 -- smashing Kate Ziegler's best set back in 2007.



Katie won gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's 800 metre freestyle.
