Actually, CBS will tell Mike Francesa how to run his show (though he's lying about being sued)

Mike Francesa, hating FOX and hated by FOX, will not have WFAN as his bully pulpit any longer. Annoyed that Francesa has drifted from the 'this, first and foremost, is a little radio show where TV cameras unobtrusively drop in like they're visiting our living room,' CBS has told Mike to can the FOX simulcast whining.

“Sometimes you get a cake or a watch, sometimes you get a letter threatening to sue you,” he said, referring to his 25th anniversary with CBS. "That's what I got. So that's why we can't talk about it right now. I'm frustrated, but there's not much we can do." Only he was lying about that too. CBS never threatened to sue.

*Update, via Newsday: Karen Mateo, a CBS Radio spokeswoman, confirmed later, "There has been no discussion of any kind in regards to a lawsuit."'



Earlier this year Francesa said of his new partner, "We've been pre-empted far more than I ever thought possible." There had been two "major meetings" trying to find a solution, he added at the time, "but we have not worked it out yet."
